T-9 days for the wedding! – Here Wedding registry favorites by Hey Bride
One of the fun things to do while planning your wedding is dream about the possible gifts you can receive. In our case we were not expecting a lot of gifts since we are having a semi-destination wedding (half of the guests are local), so we didn’t even mention it in the invitation, but made a wedding website where a link to it is. Our guests have definitely been super generous and we have already received many amazing gifts.
In the process, we tried out a few of the registry tools and sites and ended up with a few options all combined in MyRegistry.com
The reason we chose My Registry is beacuse it seemed easy to link all registries (We used: Macys, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Amazon), add honeymoon fund and link independent products when you don’t want to do an entire registry at a store but just link a product. Other similar regisitry is Zola.com .
Even though we linked most of our desired items, I started deleting some that I found at Homegoods for a much better price. So instead I added a Homegoods gift card to our registry! (I dream of making my entire home out of Homegoods).
In the process I learned that we start adding things that would be nice to have but we wouldn’t purchase at the time, so I started deleting them. Once you receive a gift that will only take counter space you realize it was a waste of a gift that you would really use right now. So don’t just add for the sake of “it’s a gift”, but think if its something you would buy in the future or wouldn’t buy at all but would love to have.
Let me share some of my favorite gifts we have already received:
“I am so in love with this gold set. Although is not for daily use, the idea of hosting a dinner this holiday season as a new husband and wife, with our new gold flatware… Yum! I read a lot about gold flatware and these had the best reviews/cost.”
*Thanks to my future mother in law and my uncle and family for this gift. Registered for two :)*
“I already had a cheap countertop oven, and thought they were all the same until I tried this one at my mom’s house. I knew I had to register for it and I am so glad!” *Thanks to my aunt and cousins for this amazing gift*
“If this isn’t the cutest thing you’ll register for, I don’t know what it is! The quality is amazing, and this basked has everything you need to plan a super cute picnic. I can’t wait to come back from the wedding and enjoy some quiet time with my HUBBY doing a nice picnic on the park”. *Thanks to my soon to be sisters in law for this gift!*
“So, I didn’t register for this but I am SO GLAD my host family thought of me when they saw it. Receiving this in the mail was the BEST MAIL DAY. Such a cute passport holder, fantastic quality and a great way to get the excitement going for this trip!… highly recommended”. They also sent me this ring dish from Kate Spade… Love it!
“This set is so classy, beautiful and useful. Since our friends in Boston sent us this gift, we have been showing it off in our countertop. Highly recommended”.
“These soft sheets were the very first gift we received and they are simply perfect. Love the subtle line, and the feeling white gives you.”
We also received this set of Sheets from Pottery Barn, that we hadn’t registered for but totally fell in love with! So soft and luxurious that will make your nights just a little fancier! Don’t you love it when your guests have the best taste ever?
“We wanted this item so bad. With the hair that flies DAILY in the bathroom, this is the easiest way to have quick cleanups during the week without bringing out the big guns. My fiancé was excited that he can go do a quick car vac session as well. Both happy campers. This gift is under $50 and truly made us happy”.
We have received so many other fantastic gifts, from kitchenware to bedsheets and everything in between and truly feels like a way of building our new nest with a little bit of love from all the friends and family that care for us. What are some of your favorite registry items? Comment below!
